Youth Encouragement and Public Outreach Program

Goal: To teach youth and members of the general public about insects.
What we offer: Presentations to teach youth and the general public about insects.
Cost: Free of charge! However, programming is a first-come, first-serve basis and is contingent upon volunteer availability.

Examples of past events include:

• School visits for grades 1 through 12
• Small group visits to the Department of Entomology, University of Manitoba (~25 people or fewer)
• Event booths and displays
• Other public outreach events where insect education is desired

Things to note:

• Smaller groups facilitate better learning. If you have a large group, we will likely ask you to organize it into smaller groups. Multiple presentations will then be provided
• We require that supervisors are present to manage the children during all presentations and demonstrations
• Although we will try our best to accommodate your event, we cannot guarantee that we will have volunteers available for the requested date and time
