The Entomological Society of Manitoba is pleased to invite all Canadian and international entomologists to the upcoming Joint Annual Meeting of the Entomological Society of Canada and the Entomological Society of Manitoba this fall in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We warmly welcome all students, researchers, and professionals in the field of entomology to join us!
The theme of the conference is: Insect Apocalypse, focusing on the many challenges that our insect compatriots face moving forward. The meeting will take place from Sunday, October 4 through Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at the Canad Inns Destination Centre Polo Park in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The hotel is located only a short cab/uber ride from the airport with numerous restaurants and conveniences close by.
The scientific program is well developed with eight diverse symposia including pollinators, field crops and others. Be certain to attend the Plenary session with keynote speakers Dr. May Berenbaum and Dr. David L. Wagner.

We welcome our keynote speaker, Bradley J. White, PhD. Dr. White is the lead scientist on the Debug project at Google, and will present on the mass release of sterile mosquitoes to eliminate the ones that carry disease. A variety of researchers will deliver complementary presentations on insect-microbe interactions during our symposium. Attendees and student competitors will be able to participate in-person. Abstracts will be published in the next volume of the Proceedings of the Entomological Society of Manitoba.

Parking: Friday (October 24th) parking is available in the Canad Inns Destination Centre Fort Garry parking lot free of charge. Saturday (October 25th) there is a Blue Bombers game which limits the lots available for parking. See this link for more details.
